ATR International AG to increase its presence in the APAC region

ATR International AG, the world’s largest trade cooperation for automotive spare parts, has appointed Vincent Tan (56) as Head of Business Development for the APAC region. In doing so, ATR is addressing the growing importance of the Asia Pacific region for the global economy. Mr. Tan will be responsible for the expansion of local ATR business activities. From the Singapore branch of ATR International AG he will function as a Singapore-based interface with ATR’s headquarters in Stuttgart. “The APAC region has enormous potential for our current shareholders and suppliers. I am delighted that we now have Mr. Tan, an experienced professional, on site to oversee our expansion plans in this region,” says Wolfgang Menges, Director of Purchasing / Finance at ATR International AG.

Vincent Tan is Singaporean and has in-depth knowledge of the Asia Pacific spare parts market. At present, ATR has six shareholders in the APAC region: Auto Business Corporation Company Limited (Thailand), BSB Junrose Auto Parts Corporation (Philippines), Jiangsu Carzone Auto Parts Co., Ltd. (China), Empire Motor Co., Ltd. (Japan), GOLDENLINK AUTO PTE LTD (Singapore), PARTS-MALL AtZ CO., LTD. (South Korea). “In this heterogeneous region, there are numerous cultural differences, many languages, currencies and, as a result, a wide variety of approaches to procurement. “I’m eager to take on the challenge of strengthening ATR’s position in the Asia Pacific region and bringing its values and business approaches to the various countries.” Tan’s duties will include market research, identifying potential new shareholders and integrating them into ATR International AG, and coordinating between wholesalers and local suppliers.
