NTN-SNR Press release

  • Symptoms for recommended auto repair shop visit
  • Innovation for drive shafts
  • Tutorial for wheel bearings assembly

Every day our vehicles are subject to lots of constraints related to the state of the road (potholes, retarders, gravel, sand) or to climate conditions (rain, heat, snow-removing salt) and finally to detergents and high cleaning pressure.

Each of these tires the suspension components such as the strut mount and the strut bearing.

Symptoms:

•    A feeling of play in the front end: less comfort than usual, the strut mount may be degraded.
•    Crunching noises during maneuvers, clicks on degraded roads, hard spots in the direction: the strut bearing can be incriminated.

If you think you are experiencing these, make an appointment with your mechanic for a diagnosis. It may be time to replace your suspensions to keep you safe and comfortable.

NTN-SNR has developed a side shaft lighter than usual for premium vehicles. It means a 2.2kg weight gain, 20% lighter than traditional driveshafts. This innovation answers to the major challenge imposed on manufacturer regarding weight gain in favor of reducing CO2 emissions.

The CVJ has been redesigned (fixed joint on wheel side and sliding joint on differential side), optimizing the part and offering a 3 to 5% outer race diameter reduction.

This innovative solution has already been acclaimed for new vehicles in 2018.

Disassembly and assembly of the GEN 3’s wheel bearings can’t be improvised. NTN-SNR has produced a new video to guide mechanics during all the stages of this intervention. This tutorial is in addition to the collection of videos developed for mechanics, to simplify their daily lives.
