New Diesel Technic Iberia Logistics Centre in Barcelona

Improved spare parts supply and shorter delivery times for northeastern Spain and the Balearic Islands

The Diesel Technic Group continues to expand its European logistics network and, through its Iberian subsidiary, is opening a new centre in Sant Fost de Campsentelles (Barcelona). With this second location in Spain, the company is responding to growing demands for availability, fast delivery and reliability in the commercial vehicle parts sector.

The new facilities, which began operations on May 4, cover an area of more than 5,300 square meters and are operated by logistics partner Pick & Pack. The centre is strategically located, enabling it to efficiently and quickly meet demand in Catalonia, Aragon and the Balearic Islands. The goal is to significantly reduce delivery times while offering greater planning certainty to distributors and repair shops in the region.

Diesel Technic Iberia has been reliably supplying DT Spare Parts brand products to distributors and their customers in Spain and Portugal since 2005. Until now, shipments were made exclusively from the distribution centre located in Torrejón de Ardoz, Madrid (Spain). With the new facility in Barcelona, the company is expanding its infrastructure and supply network. Especially in urgent repairs, the immediate availability of replacement parts can be crucial for minimizing vehicle downtime.

Initially, the Barcelona inventory will include more than 15 000 DT Spare Parts item numbers, with plans to expand it to approximately 25 000 by the end of the year. This ensures comprehensive coverage for trucks, buses, transporters and trailers. In addition, the warehouse’s new layout enables faster delivery of the most in-demand components and improves responsiveness to short-term needs.

On 26 September, the new facility was unveiled at an official opening ceremony. The event was attended by Diesel Technic Iberia’s Parts Specialists, local distribution partners and their customers, including workshop and fleet specialists.

Staff from the logistics partner Pick & Pack, as well as family members and other guests, also took part in the celebrations. Visitors took the opportunity to tour the new logistics centre and gain a first-hand insight into its role within Diesel Technic Iberia’s logistics network.

Martin Ratón, managing director of Diesel Technic Iberia, highlights the strategic importance of the investment: the new warehouse will not only improve delivery efficiency but also set new standards for regional spare parts supply. Thanks to the ability to pick up parts directly on-site, both distribution partners and their workshop customers benefit from shorter routes, lower transportation costs and a reduced risk of logistical errors. Ultimately, this helps get vehicles back on the road more quickly.

At the same time, the project serves as a model for future expansions on the Iberian Peninsula. If the concept proves successful, the Diesel Technic Group plans to establish additional centres in strategic locations following a similar approach. The collaboration with an external logistics partner allows for great flexibility and scalability to efficiently meet growing market demands.

Furthermore, the logistics centre serves as an important hub for the existing distribution centre in Torrejón de Ardoz. Shipments are dispatched from there to destinations throughout Spain and Portugal via authorised transport partners.

With the new centre in Barcelona, Diesel Technic Group reaffirms its commitment to providing its customers worldwide with a reliable and efficient supply of replacement parts and to further consolidating its leading position in the international commercial vehicle parts market.
