MEYLE wins Automechanika Innovation Award in the category “Advanced Parts & Vehicle Technologies”

The new MEYLE HD brake disc has been honoured with the Automechanika Innovation Award in the “Advanced Parts & Vehicle Technologies” category at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026.

Hamburg, 09.09.2026 – The new MEYLE HD brake disc has been honoured with the Automechanika Innovation Award in the “Advanced Parts & Vehicle Technologies” category at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026.

With the new MEYLE HD brake disc, MEYLE is bringing its HD principle to the braking system for the first time and is responding to the changing demands of modern vehicles. In vehicles with regenerative braking, conventional brakes are used much less frequently. This presents new challenges for brake components and is exactly where the new MEYLE HD brake disc comes in. Its laser-coated friction surface and enhanced long-term corrosion protection on both friction and non-friction surfaces are designed to meet these specific requirements.

The brake disc is available as part of a coordinated solution together with a MEYLE brake pad. It is a strong example of the MEYLE HD philosophy: looking at established solutions from a new perspective, anticipating changing requirements and developing replacement parts that are ready for what comes next.
