GS Yuasa launches brand new AGM marine batteries

GS Yuasa, the global leader in battery technology, has made a resounding splash with the launch of two Marine Dual AGM batteries within the celebrated Yuasa YBX Active range. Catering to motorboats, yachts, and watercraft, these batteries promise unparalleled performance and reliability.
With the widest automotive range available plus industry leading batteries for a wide range of other vehicle and industrial applications, GS Yuasa encourages distributors and workshops to add marine and other battery types to their line-up. This opens new revenue opportunities in the summer when car battery demand is at its lowest, bridging seasonal gaps.
Specifications such as 12V, 60Ah, 760 MCA for M24-AGM, and 12V, 70Ah, 920 MCA for M28-AGM put these marine batteries at the forefront of the industry, whilst innovative Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology offers more cycles, faster charging, and minimal self-discharge.
Honda and GS Yuasa marked a significant milestone with the opening ceremony of Honda・GS Yuasa EV Battery R&D Co., Ltd. Held on August 7, it was attended by key personnel, including President Mibe of Honda and President Murao of GS Yuasa. The establishment of this joint venture emphasises the commitment of both giants to the future of electrification, the realisation of a carbon-neutral society and reflects the companies' shared vision for the automotive industry.
In other significant news GS Yuasa's delivery of the world's largest storage battery facility in northern Hokkaido showcases its role at the forefront renewable energy. With an impressive output of 240 MW and a capacity of 720 MWh, the facility, designed for a wind energy transmission network, emphasises system stabilisation and safety through GS Yuasa’s proprietary remote monitoring technology.
A state-of-the-art GS Yuasa dual-chemistry energy storage system (ESS) has also been installed to power a cutting-edge renewable Energy Centre at The Royal Mint in Wales. This system, pioneered by GS Yuasa, signifies the latest in sustainable battery technology, reflecting their ongoing commitment to a cleaner, greener future.
