Growth in important markets: ATR International AG expands trading network
ATR strengthens presence in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and North Macedonia
Denkendorf, December 2024 - ATR International AG, one of the world's largest trade cooperations for automotive spare parts, will have five new shareholders as of 1 January 2025: In Brazil, Furacão and Motors Imports will be strengthening ATR, while in Argentina DER Distribuciones with its headquarters in Buenos Aires, will be joining the cooperation. In Mexico, SAFE Refacciones will be expanding the presence of ATR's trade network, as will be Mega Auto Parts DOOEL in North Macedonia. ‘With all five shareholders, we are gaining strong and market-leading automotive spare parts dealers in their growth markets. The family-owned company Furacão was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Campinas. Today, with more than 1,000 employees and 32 branches, the company is the market leader in the automotive electrical parts segment and in injection electronic parts. Furacão is active in the most important cities and states such as Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro, Santo André, Pernambuco and Porto Alegre, where it offers its customers a comprehensive range of services and a complete product portfolio of the leading national and international electrical parts brands.
Further south, in Itajaí, one of Brazil's largest seaports, Motors Imports has its headquarters. The owner-managed company is the leading distributor of car parts for imported vehicles. With more than 20 years of experience and 350 employees, Motors Imports offers its customers a comprehensive range of high-quality products and services and invests in innovative solutions. The parts distributor has nine branches in southeast Brazil with plans to further expand. The company also plans to expand its presence in the Midwest of Brazil in 2026.
Distribuidora Electro Repuestos - DER for short - is one of the leading distributors of automotive spare parts on the Argentinian market. Based in Buenos Aires, the family-run company, now including its third generation, offers its customers a comprehensive range of high-quality standard products and services throughout the country. Thanks to a sophisticated distribution network, DER can quickly supply its customers throughout the whole Argentinian market. The company is also a leader in e-commerce, with a constantly updated and optimised product range.
SAFE Refacciones is a Mexican family business specialising in the import and distribution of original spare parts for high-end European vehicles and Volkswagen Group brands. The company is also the only authorised distributor for BMW spare parts in Mexico. SAFE Refacciones offers its customers a comprehensive catalogue of products and services nationwide. The company has 19 branches in the most important Mexican states and further invests in its branch network and storage capacity. It will also expand its offering in digital channels (B2B and B2C) in the future.
Mega Auto Parts DOOEL has its headquarters in Skopje, North Macedonia. The prominent importer and distributor of automotive spare parts and lubricants on the domestic market is also active in Slovenia and Kosovo. The company is committed to investing in innovative tools and solutions and to constantly optimising processes to better service its customers. Mega Auto Parts operates nationwide through a network of 13 retail shops and plans to open further sales branches over the next two years in order to be able to supply its customers in a quick and reliable manner.
